In the Home and Garden section of the New York Times, I came across an article on a pretty funky brownstone remodel.
Yes, that's right - the backsplash is carpet, and I actually like it.

For the record, I like it like I like babies - fun, silly, like to look at it (well, babies are much cuter), but not for me.
How do you keep a carpet backsplash clean? Not practical.
No kidding. Like I said, fun to look at it! And this is for a kid's bathroom - you can only imagine what happens if toothpaste gets stuck in that?? OMG
